Is Canyon County better than Ada County?

Bloggers like to criticize Canyon County. Homes are cheaper here, but is the quality of life better than in Ada County? Do you think there's more crime in Canyon County?

I think Ada County has more dining/park/event attractions, but I don't think Canyon county is far behind, especially with a lot of the developments going on in Downtown Nampa: The revitalization of the Pix Theater, Market Limone, Flying M (which is a lot more attractive than the one in Boise), and plans for parks, etc. As far as amount of crime, it seems pretty equal to me.

Growing up in a metropolitan area, it's funny to me how Ada County seems to be disassociated with Canyon County. Most successful metropolitan areas are successful because they have several interesting and vibrant communities in close proximity. I think as Boise/Ada County continues to grow, it would be beneficial to identify itself as more of a part of the surrounding communities. If Boise wants to continue thrive, it should embrace the surrounding communities more.
