Nampa Police profiling Hispanics??

Ever feel like you are being watched for no good reasons other than you are Hispanic-looking and happen to live in Nampa? Why are Nampa Police running license plate checks or criminal histories, or whatever it is they are doing on their computers in their cars, when they are stopped behind a law-abiding (and LEGAL for that matter) Hispanic motorist?? Why the extra scrutiny??

Not fair... byAHernandez5 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I don't think that this a really fair... Just because a person appears a certain way, they get treated unfairly.

can't blame them one bit, sicne most of the crime in canyon county is made by hispanics I guess it goes to show that you can't be to careful. Prove to me why the police shold not
Totally Fair and Necessary byCVal3 months ago (1 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
It's doubtful the police are actually doing that BUT THEY SHOULD. Canyon County was relatively free of crime until all the hispanics showed up. Gang activity shot up, hispanic-style gang graffitii shows up, home invasions, robberies increased, burglaries, assaults, drugs, etc., etc. I've been around the US and it's the same everywhere else. You take a decent neighborhood or city, bring in a bunch of people from Mexico and watch it it turn into a cesspool.
Apologies byCVal3 months ago (1 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
I take my comment back. I must have lost my mind temporarily or something. If the police are profiling people based on legitimate descriptions of crimes comitted, then that's their job. But if they're profiling based solely on race then all reasonable people must oppose that.

I apologize MakeItTalk and AHernandez. My comment was unfair and insensitive.

Peace and Prosperity to ALL PEOPLE.
Alot of Paranoia? byMsIllusion2 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Read the papers, watch the news. Better yet go to any of the jail rousters online. You tell me,are they just selecting hispanics for no good reason at all? I hardly think so. I grew up in the valley when it was a beautiful place to live, and for the most part crime free. A safe and clean place to raise children. I came back after 17 years to a mess. I had to double check my map. Thought I'd crossed a border somewhere I did not want to be!
Funny, I have never thought they were seeking me out or profiling me when I see them on their radio, or behind me or even parked across the street. But then, I have nothing to hide! No reason to fear,... except when I drive through certain neighborhoods and when I hear gun fire at night. I must admit, it unnerved me when several houses in our neighborhood got tagged by Hispanic gangs last summer. Yeah, that scared me some... Thank you Nampa-Caldwell police departments for doing your job! Continue on please.
