Spanish lessons

Anybody know about children's spanish lessons that don't cost a fortune? Everything I find is so expensive and I would love to get my son into spanish lessons. Does anyone know somebody that has good references that may do this on the side?

Rosetta Stone? byJalex3 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Rosetta Stone language software might be a low-cost alternative, but I don't know how effective such programs are. I've heard that the military uses Rosetta Stone software to train their "spec ops" people in foreign languages, but again it's hard to determine how well such things work.
local Spanish classes for kids byDiscovering Languages3 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Depending on where you live, there are several places that offer Spanish classes for children. You are right, many are very expensive, but some are rather affordable (including our classes). Here is a list of all of the ones that I know about:

1) First, let me tell you about our own language school, Discovering Languages. We have locations in Nampa and Caldwell. We offer a variety of Spanish and French language classes for kids ages 3-12 years old. We have a Spanish Immersion Preschool, after school classes, Saturday classes, Mom & me, and Summer camps. We have native Spanish & French-speaking teachers, with university education and experience working with kids. Compared to the other local language programs, we are the most affordable. Our classes cost on average between $3.75-6.25/hour, depending on the class. We hope to be able to provide language classes for free in the future. We strongly believe in the importance of learning another language and that it should be for everyone! Our website is www.discoveringlanguages.com

2) Puentes Language Programs. Located in Boise. They offer Spanish and Mandarin Chinese classes for children, teens, and adults. It looks like their classes cost on average between $5-8/hour depending on the class. The offer after-school, preschool, summer camps, and evening classes. Their website is www.puentes.biz

3) Garabatos. Located in Boise. They have a Spanish preschool and Summer Camps. Their classes cost on average $7.25-8/hour. Their website is: www.boisegarabatos.com

4) Rising Stars Language Preschool. Located in Nampa. They have a Bilingual preschool. Their website is: www.risingstarslanguagepreschool.com Their website does not list prices.

I hope this is helpful. Let us know if you have any other questions.
