With gas prices getting so high, one thing my family has been doing to save money is trading grocery shopping trips with other family members that live nearby. We combine our grocery lists, then take turns going to the store. It doesn't take much longer in the store, and saves gas and time each week.
I'm curious if anyone else is doing something similar, or has other ideas to save on fuel and time.

The new iPhone 3G released this morning at 8am. Is it worth camping out over night or standing in line for hours just to be one of the first to get one???
I haven't quite grasped the idea of why people do this. It's not like there is only limited stock- they are still selling the original version! Maybe it's the new pricing that is significantly lower than the first $199 for 8GB and $299 for 16GB- who knows! All I know is I don't think it's that important to brave the heat for a phone... what about you???
Anybody know about children's spanish lessons that don't cost a fortune? Everything I find is so expensive and I would love to get my son into spanish lessons. Does anyone know somebody that has good references that may do this on the side?

What is with people not stopping for pedestrians in crosswalks? Living next to a school on a fairly busy street, I see this on a daily basis. Not only do I see it, it happens to me. Nobody stops, let alone slow down. Its going to take a tragedy, before people realize when you see someone attempting to cross, stop for them.
How many times have you been in a school zone and a car speeds through there like a sign was never posted? Or you are driving 20-25 mph, the posted speed limit in the zone and a car is tailgating you with little patience? Are school signs foreign to some people in the Treasure Valley?
Unfortunately, the police can not be stationed in school zones all of the time to monitor the traffic, nor should they have to. I am glad that in some school zones they have now installed the flashing light that seems to slow more motorists down. I get so frustrated with people who do not obey these signs posted for the children's protection. What is it saying about how we feel about our youth?
Can anyone believe the gas prices?? They are raising everything from the price of gas to cost of living!! Are they raising our amount of income???
Why is it that people don't know how to drive on Midland Boulevard in Nampa? There are several intersections where there are two lanes in each direction, but every time I use the outside lane, someone glares at me like I'm doing something wrong. What gives?
Ever feel like you are being watched for no good reasons other than you are Hispanic-looking and happen to live in Nampa? Why are Nampa Police running license plate checks or criminal histories, or whatever it is they are doing on their computers in their cars, when they are stopped behind a law-abiding (and LEGAL for that matter) Hispanic motorist?? Why the extra scrutiny??
Bloggers like to criticize Canyon County. Homes are cheaper here, but is the quality of life better than in Ada County? Do you think there's more crime in Canyon County?
The economy is so sluggish that movement is barely discernible. New homes are not being built or bought and homeowners are in difficulty. They are not the only one's. Not much money around, not to lend, not to borrow, yet banks are being built left and right. Why is this? Are three or four banks to a block really what we need in the Treasure Valley?
